Has anybody got any of these? I know that the CD releases often picked up the rare 'B' sides and alternative mixes but, just for fun, who's got any of the singles themselves?
I personally have three: 'No Manners' b/w 'That's Up' 'There Ain't Nothing I Wouldn't Do' b/w 'Morrocan [sic] Roll' 'promo' copy 'Look To The Left, Look To The Right' b/w 'A Smile Is Diamond' and 'Fine White Wine' (this 'B'-side is 'live', recorded at Middlesbrough Town Hall on 20th January, 1977) Red 12" version
The one that I really want is 'Don'tcha Wanna (Have A Real Good Time)' b/w 'Coasting' but it's very expensive. I want it for the rare non-album 'B'-side (yes, I collect and play vinyl rather than CDs)

Two points of interest here... - At 3m 25s the A-side is an edited version of the 'Within Reach' album track (4m 40s) and is, I believe, a different mix. It certainly lacks the album intro with the extended guitar followed by the piano. The piano intro here is most definitely a different sound.
- The B-side is a non-album track which would not appear anywhere until the release of the album on CD. The tune seems to be based on the instrumental theme of the track 'Sleeping' from their 1975 'Oasis' album.
In the Netherlands it had a picture sleeve... And there was also an Argentinian release...

The Fine White Wine live version from Middlesbro Town Hall in 1977 is a great recording and points to the conclusion that the complete concert was recorded.
A missed opportunity if it has never seen the light of day.

A misseed opportunity if it has never seen the light of day. I never thought of that - yes, you're right. It certainly isn't on the 'On the Road' CD set as that all comes from Nottingham. So somebody somewhere is sitting on a full gig recording.

They put this on as a bonus track for the cd The Knife and I agree it's a perfect live recording from which a complete show would make a classic live album if the tapes exist.

And here's another version of the 'Smile Is Diamond' single, this time a first press 'promo' released in Japan. It's backed with 'Money Talks'. It was also available with the standard UA labels... And if YOU want to buy a copy, then you can find a 'promo' vesrion HERE, and the standard UA labels HERE.

Finally managed to nail a copy of this! Picked up a Dutch copy on eBay. Unfortunately the centre has been punched out but, on the plus side, both the record and the sleeve are very good indeed. Edit Side A excerpts are: A Smile Is Diamond; Lucia Loser; Don'tcha Wanna. (5:19) Side B excerpts are: Money Talk; Still Burning. (4:01)
