Item description from the seller
"Two live concert 12" Reel to Reel master tapes of the 1970's Rock band 'A Band Called O' who later changed their name to a shortened 'O' Band. Recorded in Stereo at the Clifton Campus at Nottingham University on 26th February 1977 for a Live Radio Broadcast on Nottingham based station Radio Trent.
These are the original tape reels that recorded the show at the back of the hall and which was mixed live straight to these tapes then later used to re-broadcast the show a week later on the radio station. The tapes were luckily salvaged from a skip when the radio station folded in the 1980's by the recording engineer. There is also an extremely rare un-broadcast interview from a Radio Trent DJ with the band members before the concert which discusses the bands current situation and hopes for the future.
The band led by vocalist Pix, were regulars on the rock gig circuit and also appeared on the BBC Tv rock show The Old Grey Whistle Test. This live set features nine tracks plus the interview taken from all three of their albums.
The tapes are in great condition and do Not need baking and they are Not shedding any oxide and show no signs of any damage or mold. Recording Speed is 7.5 ins.ps. The tapes contain approx 7- minutes of live material.
Tracks inc:
Fine White Wine, Time Seems To Fly, Sleeping, Paradise Blue, Lucia Loser, Sidewalk Ship, The Knife, A Smile Is Diamond, Sea Cruise & Interview. Will ship Tracked in the UK. Overseas final Shipping costs to be advised when destination and requirements known ***
A one off rare collectors item!"
Would be nice if I had something to play them on!
